Brian Culbertson-Low Country

The 8th Annual Low Country Jazz Festival, by all reports, was very successful! I want to thank all of our patrons from around the country and our local community for making this year’s festival the best one yet! We had a stellar line-up this year and finished the festival off by celebrating one of South Carolina’s native sons, Peabo Bryson. Additionally, we held our Jazzing with Sugar Summit, which is the health information and healthy lifestyle component of the Low Country Jazz Festival that featured celebrity chef Curtis Akins. We also provided Music in Our Schools, which provided students from Morningside Middle School the opportunity to meet and hear directly from famed musicians. This year saxophonist Marcus Anderson (formerly with Prince), and in the previous year Marcus Miller.

In spite of the bad weather and the mild anxiety associated with that, our professional team guided us appropriately and should be congratulated. Again, we thank you, our patrons, for your support and patience. We look forward to the 9th annual festival as we have already started planning and your recommendations are being considered.

Please be sure to tell others about the Lowcountry Jazz Festival, as our festival has grown tremendously, thanks to your recommendations.

Remember . . . we are “jazzing for a purpose” which makes us different from other jazz festivals around the country. For more information, please visit closingthegapinhealthcare.org and the lowcountryjazzfest.com.

Thank you and God bless you all!

Yours in good health,
