Tina L. Fox, MPS-State Director of Victim Services, Tennessee Board of Parole

Tina L. Fox is the first African American state Director of Victim Services for the Tennessee Board of Parole. She works directly with crime victims to make sure that their legal rights are being upheld for Parole Hearings.

Five years ago while participating in the Tennessee Government Management Institute (2012) with the University of Tennessee-Knoxville Office of Public Service; she was elected its 2012 Class Vice-President. Additionally, she is Vice-Chair of the Association of Paroling Authorities International Crime Victims’ Committee, a member and Vice Chair of the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence Coordinating Council (Chair of BIP Monitoring), a member of Nashville Coalition against Domestic Violence (Training Co-Chair) and organized a Statewide Victims’ Services Committee. On October 7, 2013, she received the Champion of Victims’ Rights Award by Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, for her outstanding leadership through her work with homicide victims during parole hearings and in victim services. On October 7, 2017 the Nashville Coalition against Domestic Violence recognized her as the 2017 Outstanding State Official Recipient.

Tina graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1989. She received a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration Executive Leadership (July 2015) and received from the College of Public Service and Urban Affairs at TSU, a Masters of Professional Studies in Strategic Leadership (August 2015). Tina is a 2017 graduate of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Leadership Academy (August 2017). She is a faithful member of the Schrader Lane Church of Christ where her servant’s heart is evidenced in participation in various ministries. She is Chair of the Youth Task Force Committee, which focuses on youth violence issues in Nashville. For the past 17 years at Schrader Lane, she has taught Bible classes for 5th and 6th graders on Wednesday evenings. She served as the 2015 Chair of the Women’s Ministry as well as being a Team Leader in the Ladies’ Sunday School Class, and is a Scribe for the Schrader Care Ministry. Also, she has been the first and only female to Chair (2014) the Tennessee State Youth Conference held in Nashville during its 39th year history.

Born to the late Jim Jr. and the late Helen Olean Fox on February 1, 1965, Tina is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She has four siblings: Jimmy (Celeste), Helen Annette, Ronnie, and Ken (Regina) and is the fourth of the five children. She is a proud aunt to several nieces and nephews and fondly tells each that he or she is her favorite.
