Cynthia Harris, born Cynthia Leomia Pitts is a native of Dayton, OH. Upon graduating from Meadowdale High School she was the first in the family to go off to college, attending Northern Kentucky University in Highland Heights, KY. Having earned her Bachelor’s degree in Office Systems Technology, Cynthia’s goal was to compliment her natural technical savvy with a strong foundation in business and office management.
After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree she relocated to Louisville, KY and started her career as a Project Coordinator for a well-known advertising agency, Power Creative. Leveraging her ever expanding experience, she began working for the Presbyterian Church USA; tasked with accommodating leaders within black congregations she proved time and again her flexibility and her efforts to meet corporate goals and challenges within the Presbyterian Church.
Cynthia relocated again to Nashville, TN and worked as the Black College Fund Coordinator for the Division of Higher Education and Ministry – United Methodist Church. Cynthia’s contributions centered on spearheading the Ambassador’s program where students from the Historically Black Colleges and Universities supported by the United Methodist Church were recruited to promote the Black College Fund.
In 2007, Cynthia’s career took another leap forward when she began attending University of Phoenix Masters of Business Administration program. In 2010 completed another Master’s degree in Health Service Administration from Strayer University. Cynthia later achieved her certification as a Certified Internet Recruiter. Cynthia is currently the Corporate Recruiter for an automotive Tier 1 supplier for Nissan, Volkswagen and Honda.
Today, Cynthia L. Harris has her own business, CL Harris Consulting, LLC where she provides resume updates, recruitment, and any resources to assist others in finding a job. Cynthia has been married to her wonderful husband Douglas Harris, Sr. for 20 years, with two awesome boys, Daryn Glover, 24 and Douglas, Jr, 18. Cynthia is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Rutherford County Alumnae Chapter, where she serves as President and a member of Iota Phi Lambda, Business Sorority. She is also an active member of the Mt Zion Baptist Church choir of Nashville, TN where Bishop Joseph W. Walker III is Pastor.
