With a communications career spanning nearly 20 years, the terms strategic leader, creative communicator and efficient manager are all words that describe Neysa Taylor. As the Director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC), Mrs. Taylor is able to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external. During her time with TDOC, Neysa has expanded the department’s reach by adding a bi-monthly vlog TDOCtalks, increasing agency publications, and engaging audiences through responsive social media interaction.
Prior to her tenure in State government, Mrs. Taylor spent 15 years as the Emmy-award winning Assignment Manager at WTVF (NewsChannel5) in Nashville, Tennessee. While at WTVF, she was responsible for leading her team through daily news coverage including significant breaking news events such as the May 2010 flood.
As an author and blogger, uses her pen to illuminate, inspire, & impart to women so that they may be better prepared for the celebrations, changes, and challenges of marriage & life. She shares her unique perspective on her blog, Myriad That Is Me; and has been a guest columnist for several national blog sites.
But the professional accolades pale in comparison to her personal triumphs. Neysa believes that every test is designed to teach us a lesson not only for ourselves but for others. The vulnerability and openness that she exudes allows others to not only reap valuable lessons from her trials but also learn to avoid the same pitfalls. That transparency is essential to her upcoming book Congrats on Your Engagement: Letters to Tiffany set for release this May.
Mrs. Taylor is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University with a B.A. in Speech Communication and Theater and a M.Ed. in Education Administration. In addition to her career, Mrs. Taylor enjoys her work with many area non-profits most of which advance the causes of minorities, women and children. Neysa lives in Nashville with her husband and children.
